Data Recovery for Deeside

Inside the Dragon Data Recovery lab in Moreton, Wirral — microscope workstation, soldering and imaging equipment

Professional data recovery for Deeside and the Flintshire industrial corridor — hard drives, SSDs, RAID arrays and NAS systems, recovered at our own laboratory about half an hour away on the Wirral.

Search for data recovery in Deeside and you’ll mostly find collection points and call centres — the drives themselves get vanned off to a lab somewhere else. There’s no recovery laboratory on Deeside; the nearest real, independent one is ours, about half an hour up the road in Moreton, Wirral. From the industrial park to Connah’s Quay, Shotton and Queensferry, failed drives come to us directly — dropped off by appointment, collected from your door, or sent by tracked post. Prices from £350 including VAT, on a no data, no fee basis.

Your drive stays in our lab

Every recovery happens here — at our own lab, on our own benches, by our own engineers. When you drop a drive off, the person you hand it to is the person who works on it.

And when you want to know how your case is going, you get answers from the people actually doing the work, not a call centre script.

How it works from Deeside

1. Start your case — Complete the recovery assessment form with what’s happened and what the drive is doing. We review every case properly before replying — you’ll get the likely pricing tier and clear next steps, with no obligation.

2. Get your drive to us — We’re at Tarran Industrial Estate in Moreton, Wirral: straight up the A550 and onto the Wirral — about half an hour from Deeside, with free parking directly outside the lab. Prefer not to travel? We can arrange UPS door-to-door collection from anywhere in the Deeside area for £14.95, or Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed from your local Post Office works just as well — tracked and signed for either way. Pack the drive in a box with plenty of bubble wrap — not a padded envelope.

3. Approve, recover, return — We assess the drive, confirm a firm quote, and only proceed once you approve it. Recovered data is returned on new media — collect it in person or have it delivered by tracked courier. If we can’t recover meaningful data, there’s no recovery fee.

The nearest real data recovery laboratory to Deeside

Deeside Industrial Park runs around the clock — steel, food production, paper, energy, logistics — and around-the-clock industry runs on servers, NAS boxes, RAID arrays and CCTV systems. When one of them fails, the recovery work ends up in a specialist lab somewhere; for most firms here, that means a courier and a distant unit you’ll never see. Ours is half an hour away, and you’re welcome to visit it. The largest recovery in our company’s history came from a Deeside manufacturer whose owner wouldn’t let the failed drives out of his sight — he drove them to our Wirral lab himself and watched them booked in. Our quote also came in thousands of pounds lower than the alternatives. That’s the point of a real laboratory on your doorstep: you can hand-deliver business-critical drives, meet the people who’ll work on them, and collect them the same way. We handle everything from dropped external drives and unresponsive SSDs to failed multi-disk RAID, NAS and server systems, for businesses and homes across Deeside — Connah’s Quay, Shotton, Hawarden, Ewloe, Sandycroft and Queensferry — with the aerospace works at Broughton next door. Every review on our Google profile is from a real customer who dealt with a real lab — worth a look before you post your drive to a website whose address you can’t find. We cover the wider border region too — see our Wrexham, Chester and North Wales pages — plus dedicated pages for external hard drive recovery, NAS data recovery and RAID data recovery, or get in touch and we’ll identify what you’re dealing with.

Data recovery for Deeside — common questions

Can I bring my drive to the lab from Deeside?

Yes — by appointment. We’re at Tarran Industrial Estate in Moreton, Wirral — about half an hour from Deeside up the A550, with free parking directly outside. Start with the recovery assessment form and we’ll arrange a time that suits; that way the right engineer is expecting your drive and it goes straight onto the bench.

Do you collect on Deeside?

Yes — we can arrange UPS door-to-door collection from anywhere in the Deeside area — Connah’s Quay, Shotton and Queensferry included — for £14.95, tracked and signed for. Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed from your local Post Office works just as well if that’s easier. Pack the drive in a box with plenty of bubble wrap — not a padded envelope.

Why use a dedicated recovery lab?

Genuine recovery laboratories are rare — much of the “data recovery” offered regionally is forwarded on to a lab like ours anyway. Coming to Dragon directly means your device is handled by the engineers actually doing the work, at the lab itself, from first contact to the moment your data is returned.

My RAID or NAS has failed — can you handle multi-drive systems?

Yes — RAID and NAS recovery is a core specialism of the lab. Power the system down, leave it down, and start with the recovery assessment form; rebuilding or re-initialising a degraded array is the most common way data gets destroyed before it reaches us.

How long does data recovery take?

Every case moves through the same three stages: assessment, a firm quote for your approval, then the recovery itself. Straightforward cases are often completed within days of approval, while mechanical failures can take longer — particularly where matching donor parts have to be sourced. If your case is time-critical, say so on the recovery assessment form — urgent cases can be prioritised.

What does it cost?

Logical recoveries start from £350 and mechanical recoveries from £450, both including VAT. RAID, NAS and complex cases are quoted individually. You’ll always receive a firm quote for approval before any chargeable work begins — and if we can’t recover meaningful data, there’s no recovery fee.
