What counts as a data recovery emergency?
A business server or RAID array down with the company waiting on it. A deadline that won’t move — a court bundle, a client delivery, a wedding edit due this week. The only copy of something you need in days, not weeks. If your case can wait, our standard service is the better-value route — the same lab and the same engineers, from £350 including VAT, with most completed recoveries back with their owners within 6–10 days of quote approval. If it can’t wait, this page is for you.
How the emergency service works
- Call first — the numbers above reach the lab directly, and we’ll tell you honestly whether emergency handling will actually save you time on your specific failure.
- Get it here fast — immediate drop-off at our Moreton laboratory by arrangement, or we book a dedicated same-day courier to collect from your door.
- Work starts on arrival — your case goes to the bench ahead of the existing queue, with evening and weekend working where the job needs it.
- Fixed quote before commitment — you get a written figure covering the recovery and the emergency premium before any chargeable work begins. No upfront payment, and if we can’t recover meaningful data, there’s no recovery fee — emergency cases included.
While you’re arranging it
- Power the device down and leave it off — every restart of a failing drive risks the data that’s still recoverable.
- If it’s a RAID or NAS: don’t rebuild, re-initialise or reorder the disks, and label the drive order if you remove them.
- Don’t run recovery software or filesystem repairs — they write to the drive and can overwrite what you’re trying to save.
- If the drive has been dropped or is clicking, don’t power it up again at all — not even “one last try”.
