How it works from Winsford

1. Start your case — Complete the recovery assessment form with what’s happened and what the drive is doing. We review every case properly before replying — you’ll get the likely pricing tier and clear next steps, with no obligation.

2. Get your drive to us — We’re at Tarran Industrial Estate in Moreton, about an hour from Winsford, so you’re welcome to drop off in person by appointment. Prefer not to travel? We can arrange UPS door-to-door collection from anywhere in the Winsford area for £14.95, or Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed from your local Post Office works just as well — tracked and signed for either way. Pack the drive in a box with plenty of bubble wrap — not a padded envelope.

3. Approve, recover, return — We assess the drive, confirm a firm quote, and only proceed once you approve it. Recovered data is returned on new media — collect it in person or have it delivered by tracked courier. If we can’t recover meaningful data, there’s no recovery fee.

Serving Winsford from a real recovery laboratory

When a drive fails in Winsford, the honest answer is that there’s no recovery lab in the town — and there doesn’t need to be, because ours is an hour away. Our Moreton laboratory handles everything from dropped external drives and unresponsive SSDs to failed multi-disk RAID and NAS systems, for homes in Over, Wharton and Swanlow and for the manufacturing, distribution and engineering firms out along Road One and Road Two on Winsford Industrial Estate — one of the largest industrial estates in Cheshire. We also cover neighbouring Northwich and Crewe. See our dedicated pages for external hard drive recovery, NAS data recovery and RAID data recovery, or get in touch and we’ll identify what you’re dealing with.

Data recovery in Winsford — common questions

Can I bring my drive to the lab from Winsford?

Yes — we’re at Tarran Industrial Estate in Moreton, about an hour’s drive from Winsford, and you’re welcome to drop off and collect in person by appointment. Start with the recovery assessment form and we’ll arrange a time that suits; that way the right engineer is expecting your drive and it goes straight onto the bench.

Do you collect in Winsford?

Yes — we can arrange UPS door-to-door collection from anywhere in the Winsford area for £14.95, tracked and signed for. Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed from your local Post Office works just as well if that’s easier. Pack the drive in a box with plenty of bubble wrap — not a padded envelope.

Why use a dedicated recovery lab?

Genuine recovery laboratories are rare — much of the “data recovery” offered regionally is forwarded on to a lab like ours anyway. Coming to Dragon directly means your device is handled by the engineers actually doing the work, at the lab itself, from first contact to the moment your data is returned.

My RAID or NAS has failed — can you handle multi-drive systems?

Yes — RAID and NAS recovery is a core specialism of the lab. Power the system down, leave it down, and start with the recovery assessment form; rebuilding or re-initialising a degraded array is the most common way data gets destroyed before it reaches us.

How long does data recovery take?

Every case moves through the same three stages: assessment, a firm quote for your approval, then the recovery itself. Straightforward cases are often completed within days of approval, while mechanical failures can take longer — particularly where matching donor parts have to be sourced. If your case is time-critical, say so on the recovery assessment form — urgent cases can be prioritised.

What does it cost?

Logical recoveries start from £350 and mechanical recoveries from £450, both including VAT. RAID, NAS and complex cases are quoted individually. You’ll always receive a firm quote for approval before any chargeable work begins — and if we can’t recover meaningful data, there’s no recovery fee.
